Nepheline Syenite as an Alternative Source for Aluminum Production

The increasing demand for aluminum in conjunction with the limited available bauxite deposits Europe results dire need evaluation of alternative raw materials whole value chain alumina production. present paper focuses on possible use nepheline syenite, originated as a mine byproduct, production through leaching an azeotropic HCl solution. Previous work syenite dissolution focused more extraction potassium and sodium values. In this work, emphasis is given at characteristics leachability content phases by applying high temperature untreated material. From point view, experiments were conducted range 90 °C to 150 aqueous Leaching, aforementioned conditions, process, characterized medium dissolution. show that aluminum-bearing withstand process are mainly ones feldspars.
